This is the last Will and Testament of me Robert Haythornthwaite of Qua rmoor in the County of Lancaster Yeoman (late of Woodhouse near Slaidbu rn in the County of York) Whereas I have by surrender bearing equal dat e herewith surrendered all my Copyhold Messuages Lands Tenements and He reditaments with the appurtenances within the Manor of Slaidburn in the s aid County according to the custom of the said Manor to the use and beh oof of John King [1] of Slaidburn aforesaid Gentleman and his Heirs as F eoffee in Trust to stand and be fined and seized thereof In Trust to an d for such uses intents and purposes and under such Provisoes Limitatio ns Directions and appointments as I shall by my last Will and Testament i n writing charge direct limit and appoint and to and for no other use i ntent or purpose whatsoever  Now I do hereby Give Devise and Bequeath a ll my said Copyhold Messuages Lands Tenements Hereditaments and Premise s with the appurtenances unto my younger Son William Haythornthwaite hi s Heirs and Assigns absolutely for ever Subject nevertheless to and cha rged and chargeable with the Legacys and Annuity hereinafter particular ly mentioned (that is to say) I do hereby Give and Bequeath unto my Eld er Son Richard Haythornthwaite the Sum of One Hundred and Twenty Pounds o f Lawful British money and no more to be paid to him without Interest a t the end of twelve months next after my Decease   Also I give and Bequ eath unto my Daughter Jinnet Haythornthwaite the like Sum of One Hundre d and Twenty Pounds of lawful British Money Sixty pounds of which is to b e paid to my said Daughter without Interest at her age of Twenty four a nd the remaining Sixty Pounds to be paid without Interest within Twelve M onths next after her Mother’s decease  And I do hereby charge according ly and make my said Copyhold Messuages Lands Tenements and Hereditament s chargeable with the Payment of the said Legacys to my Son and my Daug hter as also to the payment of so much of my just Debt if any that my p ersonal Estate will not extend to pay   I also Give Grant Devise unto m y Wife Elizabeth for and during the Term of her natural Life (in case S he shall so long continue my Widow but not otherwise) one clear annuity R ent charge or Sum of Five pounds of Lawful Money besides her Dower or T hirds to which she will be entitled to be Issuing and payable out of my s aid Copyhold Estate situate lying and being within the said Manor of Sl aidburn, the said Annuity or Rent or charge to be paid to my said Wife s o long as she continues my Widow and no longer as aforesaid by two equa l half yearly payments the first whereof to begin and be made at the en d and expiration  of Six Calendar Months next after my decease and to b e paid free and clear of and from all manner taxes charges and Impositi ons whatsoever to be Taxed Charged or Assessed upon the said Annuity or u pon my said Widow in respect thereof by Authority of Parliament or othe rwise howsoever    And if it shall happen that the said Annuity or Rent C harge of Five pounds or any part thereof shall be behind or unpaid by t he space of Twenty days next over or after any or either of the said da ys whereon the same is made payable and ought to be paid as aforesaid ( being lawfully demanded) that then and from thenceforth and from time t o time as often as the same or any part thereof shall be so in arrear a nd unpaid it shall and may be Lawful to and for my said Widow upon the s aid Copyhold Estate or Estates every or any part or parts thereof to en ter and Distrain and the Distress and Distresses there found to take le ad drive and carry away and to Impound Detain or otherwise to Sell and D ispose of the same, until thereby or otherwise she shall be Lawfully sa tisfied and paid such Annuity or yearly rent charge or so much as shall b e in arrear together with all costs charges and Expenses whatsoever as s hall be occasioned by such entry Distress and Sale     I further Give a nd Bequeath to my said Wife the use and enjoyment of a Cottage House ca lled Ashton House situate near the House I now dwell in for her to live i n Rent free so long as my term and Interest therein continues and she r emains my Widow and no longer    I also Give and Bequeath to my said Wi fe for ever my Buffett, Cupboard, Silver Tea Spoons in number Six with t he China  Also I Give her for ever one Great Chair a Warming Pan one Fe ather Bed Bed stocks and Bedding which formerly belonged her    And I a lso Give and Bequeath to my said Wife a Pair of Chest Drawers and large O ak Dining Table and the use of such of my other Household Goods and Fur niture as shall be thought by my Executors to be useful and necessary f or her during the Term of her natural life and so long as she continues m y Widow    And from and immediately after her marrying again or death w hich shall first happen I then Give and bequeath the said Chest of Draw ers to my Daughter Jinnet the said large Oak Dining Table with such oth er Goods as my Executors shall deliver for her use as aforesaid    I do g ive the same to my Son William   I also Give and Bequeath unto my said D aughter Jinnet one Feather Bed Bedstocks and Bedding late belonging my M other   Also I give my Daughter one Snap Table which my Executors may d eliver as soon as convenient after my decease    And I Give and Bequeat h to my said Son Richard my new Feather Bed Bedstocks and Bedding belon ging same and I also Give him my Cloaths Chest    And all the rest resi due and remainder of all and every my Goods Cattle Chattles with the Be nefit of my Farm in Quarmoor aforesaid and all my ready money monies ou t at Interest and all other my Copyhold and Freehold Estate and Estates o f what nature or kind soever the same may be (after payment of all my j ust debts Legacys Funeral Expenses and the charges of proving this my W ill)  I Give Devise and Bequeath the same and every part and parcel the reof unto my said younger son William Haythornthwaite his heirs and Ass igns absolutely for ever   And I do make nominate ordain constitute and [ appoint?] my Nephew Richard Haythornthwaite of Birkitt and my Nephew Ri chard Haythornthwaite of Whytendale in the Forest of Bowland and County o f York Yeomen and my said Son William Joint Executors of this my last W ill and Testament hoping they will see the same faithfully performed as m y Trust is in them reposed    And I do hereby revoke and make void all a nd every other Will and Wills by me at anytime heretofore made and I do h ereby Publish and
